High Noon Entertainment

Challenge
Creators of numerous hit shows including "Surprise By Design" and "Rezoned," High Noon Entertainment is on the forefront of high-definition production. But the transition to high definition had its challenges. High Noon needed to maintain a technological infrastructure and workflow capable of producing over 300 shows mastered in both standard definition and high definition. 5280 Digital helped make it possible.
Solution
To begin, we installed 14 offline high-definition suites and two online high-definition suites. As production needs grew, we identified a workflow to support the dual-format production and broadcast, culminating in a state-of-the-art, post-production facility featuring:
  • 2 online high-definition suites featuring Avid Nitris editors
  • 30 shared offline editors
  • 50 transcription/pre-editing stations
  • All using a shared storage system
Results
This year, High Noon will deliver 375 episodes in high definition, a full 75% of their total production. In addition to maintaining their standard-definition audiences, High Noon has built brand loyalty among HD enthusiasts for their new high-definition shows.
