Chris Kinsella Achieves C-SI™ Credential

Passing both a 75-question written and a hands-on skills exam, Chris joins an elite group of professionals who have achieved the NSCA’s Certified Systems Installer, C-SI™ industry certification, proving technical expertise in multiple commercial systems.

As a C-SI™, Chris offers 5280's clients a higher level of technical knowledge in several system components including:

  • Construction materials and methods
  • Pathways and Spaces
  • Fasteners and Anchors
  • Electrical Theory
  • Electrical Safety
  • Hand bending of conduit
  • Low-Voltage Cabling and more

“C-SIs have proven their competence and commitment to quality technical work,” said Chuck Wilson, NSCA Executive Director. “As technology advances, we must in turn enhance and validate our technical skills to meet customer demand.  Soon, the most important people in our industry will be those who can master multiple systems and provide a single solution to the end-user.”

The C-SI credential requires at least 2,000 hours, or 1 year, industry work experience and an understanding of systems components. This understanding may be gauged by NSCA’s quick, online assessment test and if needed, increased, through the C-SI™ Review Course. The C-SI™ is the foundation for the more advanced Certified Electronic Systems Technician, C-EST™ and Registered Electronic Systems Integrator, R-ESI, designations.

“Certified professionals will lead the charge for integrated systems in this industry,” noted Wilson.  “This program will build the next generation of systems integrator and elevate the EST occupation to a new level.”
